Disasters such as ice storms, tornadoes, and power outages are inevitable. No matter what type of disaster, a business will have a very difficult time if not prepared properly.

Some companies say they have backups, but unfortunately they leave the backup at the office when a location is destroyed. Many customers use off site backup services, which can be effective until they need to replace a computer server. The down time is what hurts businesses today.

Failures of systems or equipment including a computer server, dial tone, and internet services can be due to a water leak from a water heater or an air conditioning system or it could be a catastrophe like fire or flood. 

A disaster can strike at any time. Due to the suddenness of the event, it generally leads to an initial period of uncertainty.
